Unforgetful Evening

7:22 PM

salam alayk

Her alarm had rang just now. It's about the time to go out. Neam quickly change her clothes to a proper one and headed to Koop. She knew that she's little bit early, since she had been lectured about time punctuality by the secretary in MPP room last night. At least, she decided to be better. Alhamdulillah.

At first, it was a hot evening and before she step out, she's feeling reluctantly to go out that moment. But because of the promise she'd made, she finally make it out. Waiting for her friends, she listened to some instrumental music, as usual, her favorite things to do. While the melody of the music melt her bad feelings aways, the evening seems to be agree with the music, the weather started to be not-so-hot evening, the wind started to blow mediocre and and to be precise, a PERFECT evening.

She felt so contented that time, with perfect time, perfect music and perfect place. Of course, it couldn't be fully perfect as the evening started to disappear and replaced with the darkness of night. She can only pray that only the best thing can come and approach her, maybe not physically, but heartedly.
  1. She went to CP first to buy some CAS stuffs with her classmates. Of course everything happen always had unexpected reasons behind it. Neam and her friends were been approached by a couple of lady in their middle 20s offering a free treatment costing RM700. Is it logic, huh? Well, of course, Neam and her friends rejected it softly to avoid any misunderstood. But, if really the treatment company wants to offer free treatment to public, Neam thought that they should ask more beautiful girl to offer that.
  2. CP is having a little small renovation on the floor, so Neam can see that there are some labors were putting some cement onto the floor. It's not the person whether they are Indon or Indian or Malay Neam seen, but the way they worked.

On the authority of Ibn 'Umar, radiyallahu 'anhuma, who said: The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, took me by the shoulder and said:

"Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler/wayfarer."
Ibn 'Umar used to say:
"When evening comes, do not expect (to live till) morning, and when morning comes, do not expect (to live till) evening. Take from your health (a preparation) for your illness, and from your life for your death."
The way that those person worked, Neam like the most.
There is a Hadis from Hadith 40, saying that be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler/wayfarer. What can we relate? Well, When we become a foreign worker who just like Indonesian came to Malaysia to work, they tend to be careful with the life in Malaysia, afraid that they could be caught by the police, or they lost the money that they've been collecting for pleasure for their family there in Indonesia. Being a traveler, make us feel more alert with unexpected world, where anything could happen, bad things and vice versa. The same thing, for us, human. This world sometimes, could be a very strange world for us, if we got into it deeper, we might tend to forget as who we are, and what should we do in this strange world. Shouldn't us be alert?

3. Having watched how the man worked with so much effort, Neam accidently glance at a couple of mum and a son, together with a child. At first, they looked like a happy family, but to be true, the man was offering a hand to help her mum walking down the stairs while he himself, carrying his child on his arm. Such a sweet moment. Subhanallah.

4. Feeling that she still doesn't want to go back college, she decided to follow one of her classmates to go to night market nearby. This evening is hard to find, she spoke to herself. Still, Ampangan could be very crowded once the night market takes in. Cars, people, and food. And Alhamdulillah, there's a man selling samosa and curry puff gave Neam some discount for buying his food. Clueless of the reasons the man did so, Neam felt that the evening is getting warmer to her, as if the people as well.

5. At last, for most people, it could be an eyesore to see poor children or orphan to ask people walking around asking for money or buying some sorts of raisins. For Neam, as well. The boy, looked very familiar to Neam who reminded her about a junior in her lower form school. Watched the boy went here and there, Neam asked her friend.

"Aina, kalau kita nampak budak macam itu, nak buat apa ye?"

"Entahlah, kita pun tak tahu." And yet, she told Neam about story of the owner of orphanage managed to buy an airplane using the money he got from this illegal activity.

"Aina, kita rasa kita nak beli sesuatu la untuk dia. Daripada bagi duit yang tak tentu mana pergi, baik beli makanan. Tunggu jap ea."

"Nah, ambillah duit ni, cepat, teksi dah nak sampai."

Ah, of course, choosing what to buy for that boy was kind of tough. So, Neam ended up buying a Nuss biscuits and Twister Orange.
Neam was late in buying the items, so she ran quickly and puff, the taxi already there. Aina was getting into the car and tadaa!

"Salam, dik. Ambillah makanan ni. Akak bagi. Jaga diri baik-baik."

That boy was still there, clueless of what a girl in front of him telling to. Yes, from nowhere, suddenly approached him and giving some delicacies. Alhamdulillah.

I'm absolutely felt that almost everyone of us had same experience like above. Or at least, met an orphan selling raisin, but of course, we can't help them much by giving the money, without noticing whether the money will disappear just like that, but as being empathy towards other people, we can only give what we can, or at least pray the best for them. :)

Wallahu Ahlam.
p/s: Aina, don't forget this evening.
